Raise a glass at the Keighley Brewery online store

Timothy Taylor’s award-winning Keighley Brewery is up for another accolade.

The Knowle Spring Company is a finalist for the Society of Independent Brewers Business Awards.

It goes up against three other competitors vying for the title of best independent craft brewery online store in the UK.

Taylor’s head of marketing, Jane Jenkins, said: “We’re clearly hoping to win, but we’re thrilled to have made it to the final four.

“Our online store has become a much more important aspect of the business during the pandemic. When pubs were closed and drinkers were reluctant to go to supermarkets, they turned to online shopping in droves.

“Additionally, it provided us with an important source of income when our keg sales were decimated and gave us an outlet for the beer we still needed to brew to keep our unique yeast alive.

“We have recently invested in upgrading the online store and moving order fulfillment to another Keighley business, Ogden Fulfillment, to allow us to grow.

“We stock the full range of beers in our online store, giving Timothy Taylor fans the opportunity to buy them all, as supermarkets tend to stock only one or two of our brands.”

She added that several features – including a “pick and mix” bottle offer, giveaways and personalized Landlord bottles – have also proven popular.

The Society of Independent Brewers Business Awards recognize the achievements of the best breweries, taprooms, pubs and businesses in the UK beer industry.

Categories range from pump clip, can and bottle design to brewers’ efforts to make their business more sustainable, innovative or successful.

The online store category is one of three newcomers this year, reflecting a shift in customer shopping habits during the pandemic.

Neil Walker, Chairman of the Jury, said: “Congratulations to all of this year’s finalists.

“Not only did we see a whopping 60% increase in entries over last year, but the quality of submissions was truly astonishing – with some truly inspiring companies vying for the awards.

“Coming this far and being named a finalist is a great achievement – and I wish everyone the best of luck when we announce the big winners.”

Winners will be revealed and prizes awarded at a ceremony at BeerX UK, Liverpool on Wednesday 16th March.

Pete Brown – an acclaimed beer author, broadcaster and consultant – will give the presentations.
