The Great American Music Hall hosting Ukraine benefits from the feat. Dan Lebowitz, Reed Mathis, Sonny Smith and more


This Saturday (23/04) the legendary Great American Music Hall in San Francisco hosts a benefit show for the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. They work with a wonderful organizer in SF (she’s Russian) and 10 local artists, with 100% of ticket sales and donations going to the largest children’s hospital in Kyiv, Ohmatdyt Children’s Hospital.

We’ve listed the lineup below, but it’s sure to be an evening of fantastic jams with Dan Lebowitz, Reed Matthis, SF Poet Laureate Sonny Smith, and more. You can find more information here:

  • Sonny Smith – local legend, founder of Sonny & the Sunsets
  • Dan Lebowitz – founder of Animal Liberation Orchestra (ALO), frequent contributor to Grateful Dead
  • Tongo Eisen-Martin – Poet Laureate of San Francisco
  • Reed Mathis – former Tea Leaf Green member, frequent Grateful Dead contributor
  • Asher Belsky – 17-year-old SF guitar phenom, collaborator with Allman Family Revival, Marcus King, and more
  • Mayya – SF artist, founder of Mayya & the Revolutionary Hell Yeah
  • U.GIN – a new project by local artist Eugene Tarasov
  • Gumby’s Junk – art rock/post punk band from Oakland
  • Cock – Bay Area Punk Outfit
