To add more fun, WhatsApp also recently announced three new features for the web version, including a desktop photo editor, preview links, and sticker suggestions. These new features will also be available on the WhatsApp web application.
Previously, these features were only limited to the mobile app version of WhatsApp. With the new update, users can now easily crop, rotate and edit images on the web version of WhatsApp.
Meanwhile, with the sticker feature, users can add funk to their conversations by using different stickers to convey their moods and expressions in the chat as they type their messages. Usually, users have to go through multiple tabs to find the right sticker, which somehow disrupts the flow of the conversation. The new update reduces this hassle and makes chatting with stickers more convenient and easier.
While the Preview Links option will allow users to share news, videos, tweets and more. Users can now preview the full link for better context before opening it. While these new features are already available, there are also reports that WhatsApp is currently working on a new Communities feature that will give more power to group admins.
According to WABetaInfo, the new feature is supposed to give admins the ability to invite new users through a community invite link and then start sending messages to other members. According to reports, the feature was seen in the latest beta of WhatsApp, version 126.96.36.199.
Community should be a social media type function within the messaging app itself, similar to a Facebook group. With this, the instant messaging platform tries to bridge the gap between it and other apps like Telegram and Signal.
